Dec 11, 2018
Bridge Street Theatre Managing Director John Sowle discusses the Catskill theatre's new season. And WOOC-LP hosts Jonah Moberg and Olivia Stalvey spoke with Sharon Bruce, Communications Manager for the Audubon Society in New York and Connecticut, about their environmental efforts. And hear about how environmental groups presented over 100,000 petitions to Gov. Cuomo urging him to have the Delaware River Basin Commission ban fracking. We hear from Eric Weltman of Food and Water Watch; Iris Fen Gillingham of Zero Hour; Melissa Troutman; Rob Hayes of Environmental Advocates; and Rob Friedman of Natural Resources Defense Council, who talked with Mark Dunlea from WOOC. Plus, author Joe Steele discuss his book "Forbidden Love" with Chad Weckler from his show "The Art of the Hudson Valley." The book is the true love story of Father William Grau, a black, American priest, and Sister Sophie Legocki, a white Polish-American nun, who in the segregated '50s, defied the Catholic church and society with their passionate secret love affair that lasted for nearly a decade and produced a son, Joe Steele. The WGXC Morning Show is a radio magazine show featuring local news, interviews with community leaders and personalities, a rundown of public meetings, local and regional events, with weather updates, and more about and for the community.
