Jean Deux and Basilica Hudson and WGXC present Rhyton (featuring members of No Neck Blues Band, D Charles Speer, Psychic Ills) and Mike Fellows (Silver Jews, Rites of Spring, Miighty Flashlight) and DJ Daniel Bunny. Part of the proceeds from this concert will be contributed to WGXC's Spring Pledge Drive. Show will air live at 10 p.m., if it is still going on, and be repeated as soon as possible that night on WGXC 90.7-FM.
Rhyton is an experimental/improv/psych trio based in Brooklyn that features Dave Shuford (D. Charles Speer and the Helix, No Neck Blues Band), Jimy SeiTang (Psychic Ills) and Spencer Herbst (Messages, Matta Llama). They are a band with an organic genesis, born from late night rap sessions at a local Brooklyn watering hole. Heads of certain vibe gathered together to tap into the underlying flux form of transportational music.
Mike Fellows AKA Miighty Flashlight (born Michael Scott Fellows on September 20, 1965) is an American musician who has performed and recorded with a variety of groups and artists since the early 1980s.[1][2] Such acts include Royal Trux, Silver Jews, and Will Oldham as well as being a member of the 1980s post-hardcore band Rites of Spring, with which he played bass guitar.
DJ Dan Bunny leads Bunnybrains, and hosts the "Battlefied Earth" program Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. on free103point9 Online Radio and WGXC 90.7-FM.
