Prison Voices Project: Black and Pink, Hudson Pride (Audio)

Jun 27, 2013
Produced by Cory Fischer-Hoffman.
Where does the struggle for equity for the LGBTQ community intersect with the struggle for justice in Prisons? This show will feature and interview with Jason Lyden of Black and Pink. Black & Pink is an open family of LGBTQ prisoners and “free world” allies who support each other. They are outraged by the specific violence of the prison industrial complex against LGBTQ people, and respond through advocacy, education, direct service, and organizing. The show also includes coverage of Milk not Jails and the Rude Mechanical Orchestra's participation in Hudson's Pride parade and the show also features music from gay hip hop artists, Melange Lavonne and the Deep Dickollective.
