On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, Hudson Mohawk Magazine Roaming Labor Correspondent Willie Terry spoke to Art Fleischer, a member of The Solidarity Committee of the Capital District, and Joseph Paparone, NYS Coordinator of Capital Region Poor People's Campaign and Coordinator of Capital Region MayDay Committee about activities leading up to MayDay Celebrations and protest. Monday, May 1, 2023, is the official celebration of May Day, also known as International Workers Day. Plus, VOCAL-NY builds power among low-income people directly impacted by HIV/AIDS, the drug war, mass incarceration, and homelessness. Their campaign against mass incarceration focuses on bills such as Daniel's Law; Repeal Prison Voting Reform; Ending Qualified Immunity; Elderly Parole; and, Challenging Wrongful Convictions. Nick Encalada-Malinowski discusses these issues as well as the ongoing fight over bail with WOOC's Mark Dunlea. www.vocal-ny.org/issues/mass-incarceration/

Some reports come from our partner station, WOOC-LP in Troy, out of The Sanctuary for Independent Media. Tom Roe also cuts up local and national news with songs and sounds for the show. The show begins each day with local headlines, weather, and previews of community events. Also tune in for national headlines from the Public News Service on WGXC. Sometimes national, state, or local press conferences, meetings, or events are also broadcast live here.
