We speak to Jon Bowermaster, a noted oceans expert, journalist, author, filmmaker, adventurer and a six-time grantee of the National Geographic Expeditions Council. A Hudson Valley resident, Bowermaster directed “Dear Governor Cuormo," a 70-minute film that documented an all-star concert called “New Yorkers Against Fracking,” which took place at The Egg in Albany in May. The title refers to an open letter to Cuomo, read by actor Mark Ruffalo asking the politician to maintain the state moratorium on fracking. In this conversation, Bowermaster discusses the film and its tact/tone, its distribution, and its message.
