Donald Drumpf Theatre: Vol. 68 Rashoman (Audio)
Donald Drumpf Theatre: Vol. 68 Rashoman. This week, our hero calls in to a television show from many sides and viewpoints. From the point of view of the French president, from the point of view of a Greek chorus of jesters on the sidelines in a cast. From the point of view of the point of view, it was a long phone call. Songs and sketches this week from Peter Serafinowicz ("Sassy Trump French Kiss"), Bob Dylan ("Idiot Wind"), Robert Palmer ("Bad Case of Loving You"), and Golden Earring ("Twilight Zone"). Clips and excerpts from Sarah Huckabee Sanders; Seth Meyers; Stephen Colbert; Trevor Noah; Steve Doocy, Ainsley Earhardt, and Brian Kilmeade from "Fox and Friends;" Chris Hayes; Michelle Wolf; Chris Matthews, Harold Bornstein; and Ronny Jackson. "Donald Drumpf Theatre" is an original radio theatre show about a fictional, theatrical presidency, with most sounds culled from the previous week. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. The network has currently ordered another 15 episodes, but there are threats of cancellation. Anyone who would like to contribute to the show should contact info@wgxc.org.
