The palette of piano sounds was expanded in the hands of John Cage and his teacher Henry Cowell. We'll listen to music by both composers as well as students and contemporaries who were part of the stream of new ideas about the piano as a sound source: Morton Feldman, Bunita Marcus, Sorrel Doris Hays, et al.
