Beginning September 9th, WGXC will embark on it's bi-annual quest to raise $30,000 towards our operating expenses. Tune in for special guests and programming all week, and contribute what you can to keeping the airwaves open in Greene and Columbia counties!
What is the sound of open air? We like to think it’s just about anything we want it to be. From improvised music played by children armed with instruments and intuition, to live broadcasts from your neighborhood bar, to unvarnished news and affairs reported by and for members of our local community. Open airwaves, where any citizen can become a participant in the conversation. Where the sounds you capture become part of the ever-broadening tapestry of WGXC 90.7-FM, sharing the stories of our region and the world at large.
WGXC 90.7-FM is committed to keeping the airwaves open, lively, and creative. We strive to offer an alternative in an era of monolithic corporate media, where opportunity and access are paramount. While many of us will never experience the inside of a network newsroom, almost every day some curious person will come off the sidewalk and into the WGXC studio, where they will look upon familiar faces making radio. We think this is how it should be.
WGXC is committed to keeping the airwaves open. But we need your support to do this. Open air isn’t free air; nearly $10,000 is required every month to keep WGXC broadcasting. What can you give to keep your airwaves open in Columbia and Greene Counties?
