Nuestra Música: Tangos and Milongas (Audio)

We are presenting Tangos and Milongas, the quasi-mystical melodies of Argentina, that went from modest beginnigs to universally admired style.  Tangos from the 1920 and 30 up to current modern Milongas. Carlos Gardel, Libertad Lamarque, Tita Merello, Sofia Bozan, Astor Piazzola, Opus Cuatro, and Gotan Project, among others.  Enjoy the melodic and sometimes melancholic music of Buenos Aires.


“Nuestra Música,” “Our Music,” presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, Nuestra Música presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guaraní, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalán. Among many styles we present: Tango, Chacarera, Baguala, Zamba with a Z and Samba with and S, Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Llanero, Vallenato, Merengue, Parrandera, Son, Bolero, Ranchera, Corrido, Marimba, Fado, Flamenco, Sevillanas, Jota, Blues, Jazz, Danzon, Mambo and many more.
