Hosted by Rob Saffer.

It has been 55 years since one of the most experimental, breakthrough and historic years in jazz: 1964. In this broadcast, host Rob Saffer will explore some of the landmark jazz recordings of 1964. Saffer and jazz historian and archivist Marc Epstein will share some of their favorite recordings from that year, including those made by Eric Dolphy, Horace Silver, Albert Ayler, Herbie Hancock, Charles Mingus, and John Coltrane, among others.

“Overlooked” is a show focusing on overlooked and under-heard jazz, improvisational music and other fringe music, from early roots to contemporary experiments, a mix of familiar to rare, classic to weird. Broadcast live from the Hudson studio.
