Nuestra Música: Paises V - Peru - Spain (Audio)

Today we are presenting the V show titled Paises (countries) where we broadcast two countries in segments of 30 minutes each. Today we are presenting Peru and Spain.

We start with the music of Peru, that with some styles and traditions mixed with Spanish popular music of the nineteenth century eventually grew into Afro-Peruvian music. The Marinera, Festejo, Lando, Tondero, Zamacueca, and Contrapunto de Zapateo are some of the musical genres that involve rich dance and ritual traditions, and instruments like Cajon, Siku, and Charango, and makes part of the beautiful music of Peru

La musica de Espana. Spain’s music other than having the longest traditions in the countries we present in our show, has 4 languages, Basque, Catalan, Gallego and Spanish. Today we are presenting songs in Spanish, Basque and Catalan.


“Nuestra Música,” “Our Music,” presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, Nuestra Música presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guaraní, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalán. Among many styles we present: Tango, Chacarera, Baguala, Zamba with a Z and Samba with and S, Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Llanero, Vallenato, Merengue, Parrandera, Son, Bolero, Ranchera, Corrido, Marimba, Fado, Flamenco, Sevillanas, Jota, Blues, Jazz, Danzon, Mambo and many more.
