Tune in for the second part of a special two part mini-series featuring works from the Mérida Clásica Moderna Festival, a series of three music and multimedia concerts in Merida, Yucatan.

Mérida Clásica Moderna is a festival of avant-garde classical music in Merida, Yucatan, Mexico. Organized by composer Robert Constable, it was started as an international collaboration for the purpose of music and sound experimentation, employing technology, math, and philosophy to make a basis and community for 21st Century art, and as a venue for non-mainstream work.

The concerts feature many of the composers/performers from the infamous BONK Festival of New Music together with cutting-edge Mexican composers/performers. 2025 has plans to broaden the palette of composers, include contemporary dance collaborations, and a program featuring electroacoustic music and multimedia.

Mérida Clásica Moderna 2024 was generously supported by The Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán and Gobierno de la Ciudad de Mérida, al Director de Cultura Irving Berlín Villafana.

More information about Mérida Clásica Moderna can be found on its Facebook page.
