Today in Nuestra Música we are presenting a bit of this and that, with the incomparable guitar of Oscar Aleman with a jazzy version of “Bésame Mucho”, Sergio Mendes and Gracinha Leporace and the Brazilian classic “Más que nada”, Teresa Parodi and “Pedro Canoero”, from Spain Radio Tarifa and “Oye China”. Also, on your community Radio Station the Bolivian group Llajtaymanta and San Simón de lo Mejor, from Perú Cecilia Barraza and Mechita, from Méjico Los Folkloristas and a Colombian Cumbia titled “El Pescador”. Astrid Hadad from Méjico and “Los Tarzanes, Tango Jazz from Argentina with Piazzola’s “Oblivion”, Jorge Negrete and “Ay Jalisco, No te Rajes!, from Paraguay singing in Guaraní Los Triunfadores del Paraguay with “Rohejara Mante Voi”, Bola de Nieve from Cuba and “Babalú”, Elíades Ochoa with Cuarteto Patria and “Teje que Teje” and finally the founder of “Gypsy Kings” Tonino Baliardo and Caravan Road. “Nuestra Música,” “Our Music,” presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages, and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, "Nuestra Música" presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guaraní, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalán. Among many styles we present: Tango, Chacarera, Baguala, Zamba with a Z and Samba with an S, Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Llanero, Vallenato, Merengue, Parrandera, Son, Bolero, Ranchera, Corrido, Marimba, Fado, Flamenco, Sevillanas, Jota, Blues, Jazz, Danzon, Mambo, and many more.
