After the local news at noon, the broadcast will focus on 1960s free jazz and improvisation, specifically on reissued classic recordings from Hat Hut’s two-year-old ezz-thetics sub-label. Host Rob Saffer will play tracks from the "ezz-thetics Revisited” series which provides fresh insights on some of the most important and influential jazz recordings and musicians of the era, sometimes playing in surprising combinations. “Overlooked” is a show focusing on overlooked and under-heard jazz, improvisational, and other fringe music, from early roots to contemporary experiments, a mix of familiar to rare, classic to weird. Live from the shadow of Overlook Mountain in Ulster County.
