In the debut Hudson Valley Word of Mouth segment from Julia Joern, a visit with Kostas Anagnopoulos, proprietor of Pidgin. Located in the historic district of Oak Hill - part of the town of Durham in Greene County - his new shop is housed on the ground floor of the old Ford Store building. This historical landmark was most notably Oak Hill's general store about 150 years ago, and more recently a record store. Though it is primarily an antiques shop, Pidgin is a place to discover soulful artworks and rare objects, one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture, and handmade home goods by a few local artisans. Always a poet and now a shop owner, Anagnopoulos shares his own stories about his Greek heritage, what it was like being in his mother's alterations store in Chicago, his love for books, and what's special about Oak Hill.
