The Jazz Disturbance: Almog Sharvit (Audio)

This broadcast will feature a conversation with bassist Almog Sharvit. His debut release on Switzerland’s Unit Records label is entitled Get Up Or Cry. Born and raised in Israel, Sharvit grew up playing the cello from the age of 7, adding bass guitar and the upright bass at age 13. His jazz trio Kadawa has received accolades from the New York Times, Indiecurrent, and Vancouver Sun, among others. Sharvit has also toured internationally with various acts across 12 countries, and performed at Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Detroit Jazz Festival, the Blue Note, Jerusalem Jazz Festival, and many more. This interview was recorded on June 1.
