After several recent shootings of black citizens by police around the country, and then the shooting of police in Dallas, WGXC hosts a special "All Together Now!" with comments from radio hosts about the recent news, plus sounds from local protests and vigils, and a public forum with the Hudson police department. Local radio hosts included in this conversation are Vern Cross, Holly Tanner, Justin Weaver, and Neva Wartell. Audio excerpts from Lance Wheeler's YouTube video of the July 12 Hudson vigil, and Roger Hannigan's Facebook Live video of the July 13 community meeting with Hudson police that included Hudson Police Chief Ed Moore, New York State Police Troop K Captain Mike Jankowiak, Hudson Mayor Tiffany Martin Hamilton, and Hudson Common Council Police Committee Chairman Henry Haddad. Also included is an excerpt of Dan Udell's YouTube video of Bill Hughes, Hudson's Fourth Ward Supervisor, speaking on the issue at the July 13 Columbia County Board of Supervisors hearing. Finally, the show tunes in Young Paris, formerly of Hudson, and his new song "Negus." "All Together Now!" is a new evening news show brought to you by WGXC in Greene and Columbia counties, and WOOC in Troy. The show is a unique, community-based collaboration between listeners and programmers, both on air and off. If you want to get involved, send us an email at info@wgxc.org. "All Together Now!" features local and regional news, weather updates, feature segments, and newsmaker interviews. Tune in to learn more about the issues that affect communities throughout the Capitol Region and the Hudson Valley, from the Catskills to the Berkshires. "Public News Service" national headlines and "Radio News" are among the regular features on this collaborative show.
