Office Hours: Preeti Sriratana, Architect (Audio)

Oct 28, 2018
Produced by Food New York.

We asked Preeti to be our inaugural guest on Office Hours because he was one of the first to show us how amazing Chinatown is and can be.

Preeti's interview was the first in this series and originally aired on October 26, 2018.

Preeti Sriratana has over 10 years of experience in commercial architecture, and served as one of the original Senior Designers of Ground Zero, the NY Jets Training Facility, and Masa Restaurants worldwide. He is also the Chairman of Apex for Youth, NYC’s largest non-profit youth organization that empowers children from underserved Asian and immigrant communities, where he co-founded Central Queens Academy, a charter school. Preeti received a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Architecture from Columbia University, a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University, and holds an Official Commendation from the City of New York.

Food Radio is a radio station started by Food New York. For season one, Office Hours, we took over a storefront in Chinatown and interviewed over 50 artists, designers, chefs, architects, entrepreneurs, and one politician, all to find out how they managed to make money doing what they love. The space was open for anyone to visit, hang out, attend workshops and ask questions. All of the interviews were recorded live. A special thanks goes out to Jelisa Blumberg, Wave Farm, Montez Press Radio and Patrick Nininger.
