Composer Carl Stone is a recognized master of sampling, appropriation, montage, and cut up techniques utilizing sound sources collected from around the world including many recorded by the artist in his travels, primarily in Asia. These performances, recorded at the Roulette concert hall in Brooklyn in December 2023, include solo works for laptop, a duo with Min Xiao-Fen (voice) called Acid Karaoke, and a trio with Ned Rothenberg (woodwinds) and Soo Yeon Lyuh (haegeum) entitled Senile Felines. The event celebrated Stone’s 70th birthday and the release of his retrospective album on Unseen Worlds.
