Playing Favorites: Augustus Pablo (Audio)
Jul 11, 2022
This broadcast explores the legacy of dub artist Augustus Pablo (1953-1999), who used the melodica, a child’s instrument, to create some of the most haunting melodies in reggae music. Classic tracks from “King Tubby Meets Rockers Uptown,” “East of the River Nile,” and “King David’s Melody” are featured.
Formerly called "The Morning Sampler," on this show host Brendan Donegan plays, "an eclectic mix of old and new blues, electronica, pop, RnB, country, Latin, rock, rap and a bit of classical music" live from WGXC's Hudson studio.
