Nothing Is Real Radio Hour: NIRRH Cut Ups Image. Created by Sam Sebren. (Aug 30, 2014)

Created by Sam Sebren.

For this edition of NIRRH, creator Sam Sebren looks back at the last three plus years of NIRRH programs, cuts them to bits, and reassembles the cuts into a new audio collage, transforming the content of his own work in honor of this centenary year of William Burroughs birth. In this age of re-re-regurgitated media and images, Sebren regurgitates himself using the cut up technique which can be traced back to the Dadaists in the 1920s. Since then, cut ups have been used in all forms of music, sound art, literature, film, and visual arts. The practice was popularized by Burroughs in the late 50s and early 60s.
