Playing Favorites: Does Lou Reed Still Matter? (Audio)

Nov 03, 2025

Over the course of 40 years, Lou Reed's music was often caustic, sometimes frustrating, and occasionally drop-dead brilliant. Tonight we'll hear the great stuff, from his co-founding of The Velvet Underground in the sixties to his career as a solo artist. You won't be bored!

On "Playing Favorites," formerly called "The Morning Sampler," host Brendan Donegan plays an eclectic mix of old and new blues, electronica, pop, RnB, country, Latin, rock, rap, and a bit of classical music live from WGXC's Catskill studio.
