This broadcast closes out 2023 with more original shellac 78s, indie garage, and South Island genies — a banquet, a feast, a splendid table laid with baubles and musical gems, rarely heard wonders and delights. Waller and Hanshaw, Whispering Jack, The Flares, The Clean, Eddie Cochran; lots of little-known 45s, 1920s pioneers, and new NZ vinyl. Trip the light fantastic tonight. Claverack resident Michael Wilde presents "Mostly Singles," selections from an extensive collection of 45 rpm vinyl — music from the 1950s, '60s, '70s, and early '80s, mixed with some 78 rpm selections from American popular song and field recordings from the Library of Congress and folklore archives.
