Ilia Belorukov works in the directions of improvised, noise and electroacoustic music. 

He practices an experimental approach of sound extraction on alto saxophone, using modular synthesizer and other instruments. 

His works were released on labels such as Clean Feed, SOFA, Moving Furniture, Astral Spirits, Notice Recordings, Raw Tonk, Mikroton and many others. He is one of the founder of the label Intonema and was one of curators of the label Spina!Rec.

« My work is quite unusual for me in many senses. Here I have multitrack compositions in small forms, 25 tracks, 1 hour in total. I had two different approaches. One is a synthesis of different kinds (modular synth, soft synths, some effect pedals) and free improv playing on hybrid acoustic/electronic set of drums and percussion (and some zither). Second is synthesis again, but with algorithmic electronic drums only. Almost all sound sources were processed after, in some pieces I used many layers of different sounds and sometimes composed the music that turned out absolutely different than original recordings. »
