Beakuency: Elizabeth LoGiudice (Audio)
On today’s episode, Mayuko speaks with Elizabeth LoGiudice, an environmental educator, a musician, and the producer of Echolocation on WGXC, a radio program that explores aspects of environmental art, especially the use of bioacoustics in sound art and musical composition.
The interview discusses inspirations for deep listening and introduces her projects where art and science intersect. It also includes suggestions for birders on how to create their own music based on the data they collect, which can be a lot of fun even for those without art-making experience.
The program also features an audio report on the Great Backyard Bird Count 2023 hosted by Columbia Land Conservancy and Alan Devoe Bird Club at the Ooms conservation area. It includes a mini interview with coordinators Heidi Bock (CLC) and Will Yandik (ADBC) and participants of the event. Along with music by Elizabeth LoGiudice including a piece she produced for the Polar Sounds project, and Moondog.
