Violist Joanna Mattrey releases her new album, legendary percussionist William Hooker's quartet performs his brilliant new work Symphonie of Flowers, and Sophia Petrides presents a deep listening of sonic scenes from her sound film BREATHING WITH THE ROOM. The annual New Ear Festival fulfills one of Fridman Gallery's core missions—to help restore creative, experimental spirit on the ground floor level of downtown Manhattan. The festival showcases time-based, not overtly commercial performance art in all its forms—from sound installations and video screenings to storytelling and physical movement.
