"WGXC Afternoon Show" hosts Ellen Thurston and Richard Roth speak with several folks. First, after the news at 4:10 p.m. or so, Marist professor Karen Michel talks via phone about her workshop with WGXC, "Sounding Good on the Radio," this Saturday at the WGXC Hudson studio. Also, local artist Kristopher Perry discusses "Machines," a musical kinetic sculpture project based in Hudson. Perry has been building large, metal machines powered by motors, solenoids, pnuematics, and hydraulics, and operated to create sounds by musicians poised at control panels. A number of local musicians are collaborating to create compositions on the machines, in preparation for a performance at Basilica Hudson in August. At 5:10 p.m., Kulton McCoy also discusses the Hudson Teen Theater Project, which is at the Hudson Opera House this weekend.
