During this heat wave we surrender to Helios, the Greek sun god, and very apropos we started the show with Chilean Antonio Pietro and “Cuando Calienta el Sol” “When the Sun heats Up”, ther rest will be a roster of “hot songs”, with Cachao, Celia Cruz, Noro Morales, Bajofondo and Julieta Vanegas, Aterciopleados, Hernan Gamboa, Bobby Capo, Carmen Delia Dipini and Johnny Rodriguez y su Trio, Guadalupe Pineda, Los Hermanos Martinez Gil, Los Folkloristas, Oscar Aleman and La Renga. “Nuestra Música,” “Our Music,” presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages, and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, "Nuestra Música" presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guaraní, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalán. Among many styles we present: Tango, Chacarera, Baguala, Zamba with a Z and Samba with an S, Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Llanero, Vallenato, Merengue, Parrandera, Son, Bolero, Ranchera, Corrido, Marimba, Fado, Flamenco, Sevillanas, Jota, Blues, Jazz, Danzon, Mambo, and many more.
