The sound artist Haeyoung Kim aka Bubblyfish uses Gameboy technology, lo-fi, and 8-bit audio along with contemporary processing tools and computer. This program includes excerpts from a 2006 suite with pianist Kathleen Supove, a solo performance from 2003, and a 2016 multi-media interactive piece with additional programming by Matthew Bergman. Trained as a pianist, Kim’s electronic sound palette is achieved by hacking gaming consoles and layering multiple devices.
