In this broadcast, a conversation with soprano saxophonist Jane Ira Bloom and bassist Mark Helias. Their new collaboration is entitled, Some Kind of Tomorrow, a digital release of “duets discovered in the moment.” Bloom is a pioneer in the use of live electronics and movement in jazz. Helias was a long-time associate of drummer Ed Blackwell and performed with Gerry Hemingway (in BassDrumBone) and trombonist Ray Anderson (in Slickaphonics). The interview was recorded on February 5.
