WGXC Morning Show: Patrick Hernandez, Sylvia Hasenkopf (Audio)

Jul 23, 2019
In the first hour, host Tom Roe will be joined by Patrick Hernandez, advisor, and some of the students participating in the Catskill Central School District Summer Media Camp held at the Catskill High School Media Center. Over 60 students from grades 4 to 12 participate in the camp. The students work on the news broadcast as well independent films, which are showcased in an annual film festival held at the Catskill Community Theatre during the last week of camp. In the second hour, Hudson Valley historian Sylvia Hasenkopf will talk about early immigration through Ellis Island to Greene County, which she has researched using records available at the Greene County Clerk's office.

The WGXC Morning Show is a radio magazine show featuring local news, interviews with community leaders and personalities, reports on cultural issues, a rundown of public meetings and local and regional events, with weather updates, and more about and for the community, made mostly through volunteers in the community through WGXC. Some reports come from our partner station, WOOC-LP in Troy, out of The Sanctuary for Independent Media. Tuesdays the show is live from HiLo in Catskill.
