Recorded in concert at Roulette in 1992, the electro-trombonist and electric cellist in a spatial jacuzzi of processed, dislocated acoustic sounds; bowed cymbals and blown strings; samples and feedback; and tangibly sculptural timbres. J.A. “Dino” Deane and Martin Schütz are distinguished sound designers for dance, film, and theater as well as performers. Both were members of the international music group X-Communication, recorded on the FMP label. Among many projects, trombonist Dean worked with Butch Morris, Wayne Horvitz, Jon Hassell, and playwright Sam Shepard. Swiss cellist Schütz also worked with Morris, singer Shelley Hirsch, and released collaborative projects with saxophonist Hans Koch and guests on Intakt.
