Welcome to the interdimensional saloon, where ambient meets classic country and cowpoke saddle up UFOs. It's a weird world out there. Pull up a stool and have your thirst quenched with ice cold pours of drone, honky tonk, and everything in between. Expect to knock back a few shots of Loretta Lynn, Laraaji, Louvin Bros, Laurel Halo, and their contemporaries as we explore the through-lines of musical storytelling from the American West to the American New Age and beyond.
Brendan Principato is an ambient musician who composes under the moniker Saapato. His work focuses on the intersection of ecology and music, using a distinct blend of manipulated field recordings and lush electronic soundscapes to encourage listeners to reconsider their place within nature. Most recently he spent half of August 2023 in residence with the Alaska State Park Service recording seabirds and the salmon run outside of Juneau.
