This broadcast will feature new music from 2020 along with pieces by musicians born in May. Host Rob Saffer will celebrate the birthdays of Robert Fripp, Brian Eno, Archie Shepp, Sun Ra, Miles Davis, Fats Waller, Bill Bruford, and David Byrne. Their music will be interspersed with newly released music by Windy and Carl, King Krule, Helen Money, Gordon Grdina, Adam Rudolph, Arturo O’Farrill, Vance Provey/Bob Gorry/Paul Gunsberg, James Brandon Lewis and Chad Taylor, Silver Scrolls, TAL Sounds, Joshua Van Tassel, Ezra Feinberg, Car Seat Headrest and L’Eclair.

After the local news, “Overlooked” is a show focusing on overlooked and under-heard jazz, improvisational, and other fringe music, from early roots to contemporary experiments, a mix of familiar to rare, classic to weird.
