Donald Drumpf Theatre: Vol. 78 The Manchurian Candidate. On this week's episode, shot in black and white, our hero reveals a long, deep undercover mission. Songs this week from Gangstarr ("Conspirancy"), Elton John ("Rocket Man," "Tiny Dancer"), Ramsey Lewis ("Back in the U.S.S.R."), and Golden Earring ("Twilight Zone"). Extensive clips from both versions of "The Manchurian Candidate," plus excerpts from Salmon Rushdie; Sam Nunberg; Chris Hayes; Jonathan Chait; Stephen Colbert; CNN; and John Oliver are included. "Donald Drumpf Theatre" is an original radio theatre show about a fictional, theatrical presidency, with most sounds culled from the previous week. Contradictions tell the story, with songs, skits, and clips from political news shows and late-night comedy routines. The definition of "radio theatre" is stretched here, with an updated Dickie Goodman and/or Richard Foreman-meets-mashup style sometimes, and a more straightforward take other weeks. The network has currently ordered another 15 episodes, but there are threats of cancellation. Anyone who would like to contribute to the show should contact info@wgxc.org.
