In this time of Pride month, a time to both acknowledge the pioneering gay & trans warriors throughout the historic struggle for LGBTQ+ equality AND to celebrate unconditional love & acceptance of people of all sexualities, it is unbelievable that in USA 2026 there are governors of at least five states, Indiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Tennessee, and Utah trying to "unrecognize" Pride month by renaming it "Nuclear Family Month" or "Fidelity Month". (It won't work, LOL!) The hatred and ignorance and bigotry toward LGBTQ+ folks is on the rise after decades of fighting for the tiniest bit of equality. For this month's Everything Is Real Radio, "Pride Is Family!", host Sam Sebren  looks at some of the gay history around families and also at the joys of inclusivity and unconditional love. At a time when trans rights especially are being stripped away by one of the most closeted, hypocrite Republican administrations ever, this year is especially the time to get LOUD and celebrate and support LGBTQ+ people no matter what your sexuality is. A quarter of the way through the 21st century, this should not have to still be a fight for our acceptance and for our very existence, but sadly it is. If you can, support your local Pride events. Support your local LGBTQ+ businesses. And support your LGBTQ+ family and friends - they need it right now. Gay history is important history. Spread love! Pride knows true family! Happy Pride!
