Live broadcast featuring the music of Alex Chilton on what would have been his 67th birthday. The show will include songs from all phases of Chilton's career, The Box Tops, Big Star, his solo records and even a couple of unreleased tracks. The band for this performance, The Ardent Admirers, includes Spike Priggen (The Bedazzled Radio Hour) on guitar and vocals, John Burdick on lead guitar, Ted Lawrence on guitar, Brian Dewan on accordion and Dewan-a-tron, Andy Shernoff on bass and Doug Wygal on drums and percussion. Guest singers include Robert Burke Warren and Peter Aaron, with Lincoln Barron on guest saxophone. Holly George-Warren will give a reading from her 2014 biography A Man Called Destruction: The Life and Music of Alex Chilton, From Box Tops to Big Star to Backdoor Man. Includes DJ sets from the Magic Stranger (The Magic Stranger Show) and Ted Barron, playing original versions of songs Chilton covered. Presented by Rocket Number Nine.
