Tune in to hear about an exciting new initiative to brings together food justice and prison justice. Wassaic Community Farm is launching their Prison Bus CSA. After years of collaborating with Political Prisoner, Herman Bell-- young farmers and activists are growing food for family members of those incarcerated in Sullivan, Eastern, and Woodbourne Correctional Facilities. Family members pay $50 for a box of organic produce (which they can pay for on EBT/food stamps) and they get a free trip from New York city to visit their loved ones in prison (on a bus, soon-to-be-converted to run off of veggie oil). Farmers and organizers Erika Bruner and Jalal Sabur speak about their project and the show also features audio from the freedom archives on Herman Bell.
