Please join us for an on-air celebration of the life of Columbia County resident Alan Skerrett on WGXC 90.7-FM and wgxc.org/listen. Skerrett was a long-time WGXC programmer, advocate, advisor, and friend. He died on January 19, 2023, at the age of 86.

Professionally, Alan was a mental health care provider and administrator; he was also a dedicated community activist. He played an important role at WGXC and was an original member of the WGXC Radio Council, an advisory group that helped define the station's founding values and initial program schedule. His show, Crossroads in Rhythm, was heard at mid-day twice a month on Thursdays, and was a listener favorite, especially when he sang along on-air.
