This edition has been produced in the UK by regular contributor Felicity Ford, in preparation for a forthcoming conference presentation by herself, Paul Whitty and Andrea Zarza Canova at the annual British Forum for Ethnomusciology conference, which will be held on Nov. 24 at the Pitt Rovers Museum in Oxford.
Ford writes about herself: "I celebrate everyday life through a playful and imaginative focus on sounds and listening. I am interested in linking sounds with material culture, and in using sound to animate, describe and explore the physical world. In my work, I link creative artistic practices with ordinary objects and concerns. A recipe or shopping list becomes an instruction score; wallpaper becomes the basis for an imaginative sound-recording and composing project; and hand-knitting a sound-system becomes a way of connecting voices and sounds to specific landscapes and communities."
