Radio From The Field Chatham Youth Session 2
Two free summer workshops are being offered by WGXC in partnership with the CLC and the Chatham Public Library: a youth program (ages 11-17) and an adult program (18 and older). We will combine meeting in the Chatham Public library, and a designated CLC site (Borden’s Pond), as well as a follow-up broadcast of the final projects on WGXC.
Please note: participants must have attended Session 1. Please contact WGXC for information about future workshops.
Wave Farm’s WGXC pleased to be presenting a series of free public workshops at local libraries as part of the Arts + Culture + Transmission program. Radio from The Field will introduce participants to environmental sound recording and to audio editing, to construct projects for radio and digital distribution. WGXC Mobile Studio Manager and artist Max Goldfarb will work with participants on how to create field recordings, edit audio, and construct projects, using free sound editing software, as a basis for giving voice to our local environments. During the two workshop sessions participants will produce a short, radio-ready production that will become a part of Wave Farm's WGXC archive. No previous experience necessary. The July 6-8 workshops at the Chatham Public Library are intended for youth participants.
To register contact max@wgxc.org or call (518) 697-7400.
Arts + Culture + Transmission is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature, and a grant from the fund for columbia county, a fund of Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation.
