Music for the Masses: Eljuri (Audio)

Aug 18, 2019
Special guest Cecilia Villar Eljuri is a compelling songwriter, powerful vocalist, and outstanding guitarist. Born in Ecuador and raised in NYC, she is often compared to Carlos Santana for her skillful fusion of Latin, reggae and other genres with a hard rock sensibility. But her lyrics and sound are very much her own – inspired by a broad range of creative influences and driven by her commitment as a social activist. Eljuri will be live in our studio for the full two hours, in advance of her performance for the Sanctuary for Independent Media's "Spirit of the Suffragettes" concert series at Freedom Square in Troy, NY on Tue. Aug. 20, 2019. Music for the Masses invites you on an excursion of sound and rhythm. Discover the music of established and emerging artists, both signed and unsigned, on the international music scene. Expect the unexpected. You might want to pack a map and a sandwich. For the avid globe-hopper and armchair traveler alike. Broadcast live from the Hudson studio.
