Kick off your shoes and get your dance on as we bring you two hours of burning African salsa classics from across the Continent. The internationally-popular Afro-Cuban music known as "salsa" is rooted in African rhythms that crossed the Atlantic during the Middle Passage, going back to the 16th century. More recently, in the 20th century, Cuba and its music became a powerful cultural force that has influenced and inspired musicians in every corner of the Motherland. Music for the Masses invites you on an excursion of sound and rhythm. Discover the music of established and emerging artists, both signed and unsigned, on the international music scene. Expect the unexpected. You might want to pack a map and a sandwich. For the avid globe-hopper and armchair traveler alike. (Playlists and other info: www.facebook.com/MassMuzik/) Broadcast live from the Carnegie Room of the Catskill Library. Hosted by Neva Wartell.
