WGXC’s first show dedicated to Greene County history! In this broadcast, an interview with Francine Matalon-Degni and her husband, Bob Degni, who have purchased and are renovating the New Baltimore Schoolhouse. The four-classroom building, constructed in 1894, served the hamlet of New Baltimore, NY until 1963. Fran has written a book, It’s Elementary: Lessons from the New Baltimore Schoolhouse, featuring oral histories she has collected from former students who attended the school, and has also created a traveling exhibit which is currently on view at the Freightmaster’s Museum at Historic Catskill Point through Sept. 4th, 2016.
