The Afrobeats movement in Nigeria is sweeping across the Continent – a popular expression of pan-African awareness among the current generation, with some very exciting hybrid sounds even now, in its early stages. Today’s broadcast will feature recent and current hits by some of the best-known Naija artists on the Afrobeats scene, exemplifying a range of musical influences.

Music for the Masses invites you on an excursion of sound and rhythm. Discover the music of established and emerging artists, both signed and unsigned, on the international music scene. Expect the unexpected. You might want to pack a map and a sandwich. For the avid globe-hopper and armchair traveler alike. Broadcast live from the Carnegie Room of the Catskill Library.
