Catskill boxing legend Cus D'Amato was born Jan. 17, 1908, and would have been 105-years-old. This show, live from the Catskill Community Center with host Matt Bua, traces the history of boxing in Catskill, with famous boxing songs, including one from The Felice Brothers about Cus D'Amato. The Ulster County-based band will be interviewed about the song, "Cus's Catskill Gym." Bua will also talk with Dr. Scott Weiss and Paige Stover Hague, who wrote "Confusing the Enemy: The Cus D'Amato Story." Weiss and Hague will host a multi-media presentation and question-and-answer session from 6-9 p.m. Jan. 19 at the Catskill Community Center. From Wikipedia: "Constantine "Cus" D'Amato (January 17, 1908 – November 4, 1985) was an American boxing manager and trainer who handled the careers of Mike Tyson, Floyd Patterson, José Torres, and Vinnie Ferguson. Several successful boxing trainers, including Teddy Atlas, Kevin Rooney, and Joe Fariello, were tutored by D'Amato. He is known for developing the 'peek-a-boo' boxing style in which a fighter holds his hands high in front of his face." Plus news and events in Greene and Columbia counties, local weather, music, and more.
