In this broadcast, a conversation with two staff members of Chicago's Hyde Park Jazz Festival 2022: Kate Dumbleton, Co-Executive and Artistic Director, and Volunteer Coordinator Mashaune Hardy. Plus an interview with drummer, bandleader, composer, and educator E.J. Strickland. He leads a sextet scheduled to perform at The Falcon in Marlboro, NY, on September 18. The Jazz Coalition-commissioned performance is entitled, “A Unified Stance, We Must Take.” Plus, a selection from the new release by Dutch trumpeter Eric Vloeimans and American accordionist Will Holshouser.
