Picky eating is a common challenge for parents of young children. Children are naturally skeptical about trying new foods, and many go on food jags where they prefer one food for a prolonged period of time. But some children – selective or sensory eaters – exhibit more serious food aversions, and may also struggle with depression and anxiety.
