The American Democracy Minute, hosted by Brian Beihl, is a nonpartisan nonprofit radio short and podcast produced for the Pacifica Radio network and is intended to keep listeners informed of a key daily issue in the protection of America’s democracy. Brian Beihl, host of the American Democracy Minute, is a former deputy director of a New Hampshire democracy advocacy group, working on the freedom to vote, redistricting and campaign finance reform. He has worked to convince presidential candidates to support democracy reform during the NH Primary, tried to establish a independent redistricting commission, organized small groups around the state to pressure legislators, led a group which created fair alternatives to gerrymandered voting maps, and has worked for small donor elections to keep special interests out of our elections.

After three years of a producing the New Hampshire-focused “Open Democracy Minute” for WNHN in Concord, NH, the recent attacks on our democratic institutions have put the republic at risk. The American Democracy Minute will keep listeners abreast of the critical issues so they can be engaged citizens in their state and country.
