We’re talking, of course, about the 1970s to mid-’80s — when the musical melting pot boiled over and disco took over dance clubs around the world — offering a sense of freedom and escape through fantasy, fashion, sex, drugs, and other excesses. In this second broadcast in a series on the disco era, listeners will journey to the African continent to imagine the dance floors of Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Nigeria, Senegal, Somalia, South Africa, Togo, and Zambia, between the years 1975-1986.
